This tour is one thing above all: rich in views of the refreshing water. We start in Vitznau, from where we climb steeply uphill across meadows to the Mittlerschwanden station. A conspicuous number of red kites are circling in the blue sky. By train we continue to Kaltbad and from there again by foot up to the Rotstock. On this way and also on the Rotstock you are never completely alone, but the deep view down to the turquoise blue lake is simply worth it.
Continue on to the second destination of this tour, the Seebodenalp. For this, you follow the signpost from Rigi Staffel and descend steeply, mostly through shady forest. There are a few viewpoints with benches where you can rest your tired legs from the descent. After crossing a cow pasture, the descent is done and you reach a wide plateau with alpine meadows and some farms. On the way to Seebodenalp and the mountain railroad you can once again experience great views of Rigi Kulm and the two lakes… Maybe you will also meet the cute cat (see video)? 🙂
